What is a belt conveyor?

What is a belt conveyor? Belt conveyor, also known as belt conveyor or belt conveyor, is a machine that uses a continuously moving conveyor belt to transport various bulk materials or finished items. It plays a key role in many industries such as mining, metallurgy, coal, ports, electricity, building materials, chemicals, light industry, and grain.
Conveyor structure
The basic structure of a belt conveyor is mainly composed of a conveyor belt, a drive device, rollers, rollers, tensioning devices, sweepers, racks, and other parts.
Conveyor belt: It is the core component of a belt conveyor. It is both a material-carrying component and a traction component. It directly contacts the material to complete the material conveying task. Drive device: It provides power for the operation of the conveyor belt, usually composed of a motor, a reducer, a coupling, etc. As a power source, the motor reduces the speed and increases the torque through the reducer, and then transmits the power to the roller through the coupling to drive the conveyor belt to move.
Rollers: It is used to support the conveyor belt and materials, reduce the resistance of the conveyor belt, and ensure the smooth operation of the conveyor belt. Rollers are divided into upper rollers (load-bearing rollers) and lower rollers (return rollers). Upper rollers generally adopt a trough structure to increase the carrying capacity of the conveyor belt; lower rollers are mostly flat.
Rollers: divided into drive rollers and redirecting rollers. The drive roller is the main component for transmitting power, and relies on the friction between the conveyor belt and the conveyor belt to drive the conveyor belt to run; the redirecting roller is used to change the running direction of the conveyor belt so that the conveyor belt can form a closed circulation loop.
Tensioning device: The function is to keep a certain tension on the conveyor belt to prevent the conveyor belt from slipping during the transmission process and compensate for the elongation of the conveyor belt due to force. Common tensioning devices include weight type, spiral type and hydraulic type. The weight type tensioning device has a simple structure and reliable operation. The conveyor belt is kept taut by the gravity of the weight; the spiral tensioning device adjusts the tension of the conveyor belt by rotating the spiral rod, which is suitable for belt conveyors with shorter lengths and lower power; the hydraulic tensioning device has the advantages of convenient tension adjustment and fast response speed, and is often used in large belt conveyors.
Cleaner: used to clean the residual materials on the conveyor belt to prevent the materials from spilling when the conveyor belt returns, and ensure the cleanliness and normal operation of the conveyor belt. The cleaner is divided into a head cleaner and a blank section cleaner. The head cleaner is installed at the unloading roller to clean the materials on the upper surface of the conveyor belt; the blank section cleaner is installed on the lower branch conveyor belt in front of the tail roller to clean the materials on the lower surface of the conveyor belt.
Frame: It is the supporting structure of the belt conveyor, used to install and fix other components, ensure the relative position between the components is accurate, and enable the belt conveyor to operate stably.
